Finally! A Heat Wave Break!

It was hot; it was hot; it was HOT!

In the past 12 days, the highest temperature of each day had been over 100 degree F (38-39C), which is a record of 12 straight days of triple digit.  The temperature on the hottest day in these 12 days was 111 F (~ 44 C).  Even though it is not the hottest on the record, (which is 112F or ~44.5C), I can tell you that it is still very, very, very hot.  Finally, today we have a break.  The temperature only reached 98F (or 36.7C), and it is still hot, but not flaming hot.

As many of you may know that recently there were heat waves in various parts of the world, which caused power outage and heat related death.  However, thankfully my area (my house) did not have power outage, or I would be cooked by now.  Yeah, it is still sad that this heat wave in California caused around 90 heat related deaths (human), and hundreds of cows and chickens also died because of that.  Thus, if there is heat wave in the place you live, please remember to drive water frequently and do what you can to keep yourself cool to reduce/prevent heat related illness or death.

After almost two weeks of triple digit, I am extremely happy that a long break has finally arrived not for me only, but also for those who are vulnerable.  For I think that if we don’t have a break, hospitals will be flooded with people with heat related illness and deaths.  It will eventually become a state of emergency.  Nevertheless, the good news is that there is no triple digit in the foreseeable future (one week).
