It is rainning again. California has Meditterranean Climate. Because it gets most rainfall from Novenmber to April, it is uncommon to have rain in May. Nevertheless, now it is June, and it is rainning — very rare to have any rain at all from June to September. :D Alright, alright!! I confess that I did pray for rain last week because not long ago the temperature was in the 90s F (about 30C – 34C degree). It was hot, so I prayed in hoping that the temperature could be cooler. Then the temperature was down to the 80s F last week, and I said to God, "it would be nice to have some rain." Now it is rainning. :D
Mediiteranean Climate or Dry Summer Subtropical Climate:
This type of climates is only found on the western side of continents, centered at about latitudes 35 degree N and 35 degree S, charactored by hot, dry summer, but cool, wet winter. This type of climates can only be found in these places — California, central Chile, western Australia, and Cape Province in South Africa, and of course borders of Mediterranean Sea. I love rain. Yeah you have to love rain in the hot, dry summer. Now it is cool and wet. I feel really GREAT. Btw, the amount of available/useable water is one of the key factors to any given climate zone and affects every living things in the area. In my opinion, the rainfall may be the effect of globe warming. California does need rain in summer to keep the vegetation green. However, I wonder what is the long-term effect. Maybe it will alter the climate and so the local vegetation permanently, and this is what globe warming may affect our environment/ecosystem — the permanent alteration. :D
